Named for co-owner Betty Levy’s adoptive Godmother, Valentinetti’s honors the legacy of Aurora Valentinetti, or “Ma Vee,” a native Seattle Theater Arts Professor at the University of Washington who is internationally acclaimed for her work in the ancient art of Puppetry. Aurora, born in South Seattle’s Garlic Gulch close to a century ago is a much-beloved mentor of many generations of students that passed thru the UW Theater Arts program in the last half of the 20th century. Valentinetti’s honors Aurora’s passion with periodic puppet shows in the restaurant that will commence in 2020.

Meaning popular dishes or food of the people is the calling card of Valentinetti’s offerings, including classic antipasti, pasta favorites and a selection of Roman Pinsas.
Not to be confused with pizza, our Pinsas come from the Latin “pinsere”, “or push the dough by hands.” Its special non-GMO flour of wheat, soy and rice, and cold fermentation process, provides a pleasingly crispy-soft textured pinsa crust. We top these ovaloids with the highest quality ingredients, pop them into our brick oven, and out comes a highly digestible pinsa (everyday pizza crusts sulk with envy).
We complement the menu with a dozen options of antipasto items, including Ricotta Gnocchi with brown butter & sage, Insalata di Barbabietola with Chiogga beets, hazelnuts, whipped ricotta & black pepper honey, and Cavolfiore del Diavolo, brick-oven-roasted cauliflower with Tutto Calabria chilies, lemon & bagna calda aioli.
Many classic pasta dishes are conveniently offered in two different sizes. Spaghetti Carbonara, Seafood Arrabbiata and Spaghetti & Meatballs anchor the eight different pasta options.

- Alternative ingredients matter for those with food sensitivities. We offer gluten-free options for both conventional pastas and also offer a gluten-free pizza crust at no extra charge to our customers. Why would we want to penalize you for eating what is right for you?
- We source the finest ingredients possible. You will find Italian-sourced Parma Prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano, Extra Virgin olive oils and aged balsamico on the menu. We are also committed to serving sustainable seafood and Northwest-sourced proteins and produce.
- Simplicity in preparation with minimal fussiness allows our core, quality ingredients to shine. If a menu item takes more than one line to describe, it’s not making the menu.

Open for dinner nightly from 5-10 p.m., lunch Monday thru Friday for over 21 patrons offering a selection of Salads, Pinsas & Trapizzini (Roman Sandwiches), and a boisterous weekend brunch for all ages, Valentinetti’s also sports a large bar offering a bountiful daily happy hour from 4-6 p.m.
