Pecan Tart

Tart Crust

 

All purpose flour                  1-1/4 cup

 

Kosher salt                            1/4 teaspoon

Granulated sugar                  1 teaspoon

Unsalted Butter, cold            4 ounces

Water

 

In a food processer, combine flour, salt and sugar. Add butter and pulse briefly to combine. Add water one tablespoon at a time, until the dough mixture just starts to come together.

Transfer the dough to a cutting board and roll it out to fit a 10-inch tart pan.  Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.

 

Tart Filling

 

Eggs                                     3, slightly beaten

Corn Syrup                          1 cup

Granulated sugar                 2/3 cup

Kosher salt                          A pinch

Unsalted Butter                   1/3 cup, melted

Chopped Pecans                  1-1/4 cup

 

Combine eggs, corn syrup, sugar, salt, butter and pecans. Pour the mixture into the prepared tart pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. If the crust starts to get to dark, loosely wrap the tart in foil.

Let cool before serving.
