Field Burger
Carrots 2 tbsp, fine chopped
Celery ¼ cup, fine diced
Onions 2 tbsp, fine diced
Garlic ½ tsp
Salt and pepper pinch
Dry Thyme ¼ tsp
Soy sauce 1 tsp
Olive oil 2 tsp
Heat the olive oil in a saute pan. Add the vegetables and cook on low until translucent and soft. Add the soy sauce, thyme, salt and pepper and cook until most of the liquid is dried. Let mixture cool.
Barley, cooked 1 cup
Lentils, cooked 1 cup
Vegetable mix ½ cup
Roasted red pepper 1 cup
Rolled oats 6 tbsp
Panko bread crumbs 2 tbsp
Parsley, chopped 2 tsp
Rosemary, chopped 2 tsp
Marjoram, chopped 2 tsp
Salt and pepper 1 tsp
Fine chop the roasted red peppers and drain off any liquid. Mix all of the ingredients together. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes. If the mix is too wet, add more bread crumbs. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Form into patties and let cool completely before cooking.
To cook the patties, heat a tbsp of oil in a Teflon frying pan on medium-high. Let the patty get light brown and the turn over and cook the other side. It should take about 2 minutes per side. Serve on a bun with accompaniments of your choosing. Enjoy!
